what guides us everyday

We want to help build sustainable communities where every man, woman and child has access to resources that satisfy their primary needs.

Our approach

We aim to support the Mauritian population living in situations of hunger, poverty and inequality by providing food, water and essential hygiene products.

With these objectives, FWH aligns with five of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030:

  • SDG 1 - NO POVERTY

  • SDG 2 - ZERO HUNGER

  • SDG 5 - GENDER EQUALITY

  • SDG 10 - REDUCED INEQUALITIES

  • SDG 12 - RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

.

Our principles

Our approach is guided by three principles:

ACCOUNTABILITY:

We ensure timely and transparent delivery of our work by providing a day-to-day schedule of our activities. By being reachable via our e-mail and our social networks, we will respond to the needs of team members and direct partners as well as to the needs of our members, beneficiaries and the general public.

TRANSPARENCY:

At FWH, we care about our legitimacy in the eyes of everyone working beside us to bring along change. By being clear about how the capital raised is allocated and by giving complete updates about our operations, we commit to ensuring full transparency through our work.

INTEGRITY:

We aim to empower all communities as we believe in the importance of solidarity at all levels of society. At FWH, we have a non-discriminatory policy by treating everyone the same regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, religion, sexual orientation, national origin and background, and wish to promote diversity through our operations.

Our strategy

FWH follows a three-step strategy:

  1. YOU GIVE: With your donations, volunteering and partnerships, FWH will be able to fundraise its operations and achieve its goals.

  2. WE COLLECT: We will then purchase the necessities, thanks to our volunteers, and collaborations with local supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies.

  3. THEY RECEIVE: Our team will ensure the distribution of the amenities to the people in need, giving them access to food, water and hygiene products.
